About The Role

We are looking for a Data Scientist with 3-5 years of relevant experience to join our team building forecasting models that inform financial planning and business decisions. The ideal candidate pairs strong technical modeling skills with genuine business acumen and financial data experience, and can clearly explain the reasoning behind the models they build and the datasets that support them.

Responsibilities

• Forecasting Model Development: Build, validate, and ship forecasting models that inform financial planning and business decision-making.
• Dataset Design & Development: Construct and maintain the underlying datasets that feed these models, ensuring data quality, completeness, and accuracy.
• Financial Data Analysis: Work with financial and business data to identify trends, drivers, and risks that inform forecasts.
• Business Communication: Translate modeling approach, assumptions, and results into clear, actionable insights for business and finance stakeholders.
• Model Support & Iteration: Support the ongoing use of forecasting models, refining them as business needs and data evolve.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with finance, analytics, and business teams to align forecasting approaches with organizational goals.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience building and shipping forecasting models, ideally within a financial or business planning context.

Skills

• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Demonstrated experience building, validating, and deploying forecasting models (e.g., time-series or predictive models).
• Strong financial data experience and the business acumen to connect modeling work to financial outcomes.
• Ability to clearly articulate modeling methodology, dataset design choices, and results to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Other

• Strong business acumen and financial fluency.
• Effective communicator, comfortable presenting technical work to non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working through ambiguous or evolving business questions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with GCP or other cloud data platforms.
• Experience with financial planning & analysis (FP&A) processes, terminology, or partnering with finance teams.
• Experience presenting modeling results directly to business or finance leadership.
