Data Scientist
About the role
GRVTY is seeking a Data Scientist with a TS/SCI + Polygraph clearance to join one of our top projects in Chantilly, VA.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external offices to curate and contextualize enterprise level information about Sponsor resources and activities in support of corporate metrics and increasing workforce effectiveness.
- Integrate wide-ranging business data sets to create reliable and repeatable methodologies.
- Analyze complex business and intelligence questions at an enterprise level and translate complex, technical findings into an easily understandable narrative.
- Apply qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods to business analytics problems.
- Create data visualization mockups, prototypes of visualizations, document work processes, and demonstrate products to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Interpret data models and work with a variety of data sources and structures.
- Translate customer requirements into project or system specifications.
- Work independently or as part of a team to research, organize, and analyze information.
- Document workflows, provide analytical judgement and trend analysis based on research and comparisons with past products, and obtain structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
- Present the results effectively and concisely in written and graphic form to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance
- Demonstrated experience in two or more of the following disciplines: Business analytics, Statistics, Data verification and validation, Data visualization
- Demonstrated experience applying qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods to business analytics problems
- Demonstrated experience creating data visualization mockups, prototypes of visualizations, documenting work processes, and effectively demonstrating products to technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated experience interpreting data models and working with a variety of data sources and structures
- Demonstrated experience translating customer requirements into project or system specifications
- Demonstrated experience with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience as a self-starter with the ability to decompose ambiguous problems into actionable plans
- Demonstrated experience using Tableau
- Demonstrated experience transforming, manipulating, and combining data using a programming language, such as Python
- Demonstrated experience using a data preparation tool, such as Tableau Prep Builder
- Demonstrated experience using Excel and SQL
- Utilizing critical thinking and analytic judgements and applying programmatic, quantitative, and qualitative methods to identify patterns and relationships in disparate datasets
- Using mathematical, statistical, or other data-driven analysis to address business questions
- Interacting with customers to coordinate requirements and resolve data questions
- Working independently or as a member of a team to research, organize, and analyze information
- Providing analytical judgement and trend analysis based on research and comparisons with past products
- Obtaining structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, synthesizing it, and presenting the results effectively and concisely in written and graphic form to internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or Information Systems, or 4 years of relevant data analysis experience within the IC or military.
Skills
- Experience with data derived from technical missions, taskings, collection, processing, analysis, or dissemination
- Experience working with Sponsor business or mission data, Sponsor applications, or Sponsor database structures
- Experience with the Sponsor’s data handling procedures
- Experience with visualization tools, such as Jupyter, Visio, SharePoint, or Confluence
- Experience with APIs
- Experience using GitHub, or similar version control systems
- Experience using Python or R

Pay Range
Virginia Pay Range $150,000—$250,000 USD
