About the role

This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

Basic qualifications

You must possess one of the items listed below (A or B):

• A. Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
• B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.

Minimum qualifications

You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:

• Developing and implementing advanced analytics, statistical methods, and predictive models to evaluate program performance, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making.
• Analyzing complex survey, monitoring, and administrative data while ensuring data quality, integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with federal requirements.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to apply data science, statistical, and machine learning techniques to develop scalable analytical solutions and improve program outcomes.
• Communicating analytical findings, data visualizations, and actionable recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
