Data Scientist

About the role

On our team, you’ll use your analytical skills and data science knowledge to create real-world impact. You’ll work closely with your clients to understand their questions and needs, and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. You’ll develop algorithms and systems and use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn sets of disparate data points into objective answers to help clients make informed decisions. Ultimately, you’ll provide a deep understanding of the data, what it all means, and how it can be used.

Responsibilities

• Conduct data analytics, data engineering, data mining, exploratory analysis, predictive analysis, and statistical analysis
• Use scientific techniques to correlate data into graphical, written, visual, and verbal narrative products
• Develop predictive data models, quantitative analyses, and visualization of targeted data sources
• Proactively retrieve information from various sources, including structured and unstructured data, analyze it for better understanding, and build AI tools that automate certain processes

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist
• Experience with Natural Language Processing, Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Large Language Models
• Experience with statistical and general purpose programming languages, including Python, SQL, and NoSQL
• Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly
• Ability to conduct data analytics, data engineering, data mining, exploratory analysis, predictive analysis, and statistical analysis
• TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, Computer Science, or Engineering

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist
• Experience with VS Code, GitHub, Jira, or Confluence
• Knowledge of DoD Intelligence processes, activities, standards, and analytic tools
• Ability to define comprehensive, new, or unique research approaches that enable rigorous assessments to address and contribute to high-level tasks
• Ability to review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft standards, and adequate support for conclusions, and routinely tests analytic rigor of analytic products
• Master's degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Analytics, or Engineering

Pay

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD).
