Data Scientist

About the role
The American Arbitration Association (AAA) is seeking a Data Scientist to serve as a strategic partner in leveraging data, machine learning, and Generative AI technologies to drive business insights and innovation across the organization. This role will work closely with engineering, analytics, and business teams to develop intelligent data products, build predictive models, analyze structured and unstructured data, and deliver actionable insights that support organizational decision-making. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in statistical analysis, machine learning, and AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), along with the ability to translate complex findings into practical business solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manipulate data sets and build statistical models
- Develop predictive models and machine learning solutions
- Apply data mining techniques including regression analysis, random forests, boosting, decision trees, text mining, and social network analysis
- Design and implement AI and Generative AI solutions, including LLM-based applications and NLP models
- Use data visualization tools such as Tableau to present complex technical findings to diverse audiences
- Maintain high standards for data quality, integrity, and confidentiality
Requirements
- Master’s, PhD, or Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field
- 7+ years of professional experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Advanced experience with predictive modeling, machine learning, statistical analysis, and pattern recognition
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, Java, JavaScript, C, or C++
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical findings
- Demonstrated analytical thinking, attention to detail, collaboration, initiative, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities

- Dallas, TX; Fresno, CA; Buffalo, NY; Atlanta, GA: $133,000 - $140,000
- Houston, TX; Johnston, RI; Minneapolis, MN: $135,000 - $143,000
- Philadelphia, PA; Voorhees, NJ; Chicago, IL: $141,000 – $149,000
- Boston, MA; Los Angeles, CA; Central, NJ: $147,000 – $155,000
- New York, NY; San Francisco, CA: $157,000 – $166,000
This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based incentive. Compensation will be determined based on geographic location.
