About the role
The Data & Reporting Specialist provides support for the University in reporting, analytics, and data processing. This role supports administrative databases, collaborates with vendors and internal technical support to resolve data-related issues, and fulfills university data and reporting needs.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with departments to identify data needs
- Develops advanced reports and queries for various departments
- Acts as technical resource for data analysis
- Oversees the flow of data in and out of various databases and systems
- Serves as a data expert for Jenzabar One ERP
- Provides technical support for administrative software and applications that integrate with university databases
- Trains end-users on accessing reporting and analytics solutions
- Manages campus analytics software
- Maintains documentation of reports and data-related customizations
- Advises in the planning of future data-related initiatives
- Collaborates in defining policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and security
- Participates in professional development initiatives to stay current in the area
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Three years' experience with database systems, query languages, and report writing for enterprise administrative software, preferably in an academic environment
- Experience supporting ERP software and an understanding of business processes
- Bachelor's degree or comparable experience
- Strong understanding of SQL and experience working with report writing software and Microsoft SQL Server or other relational databases
- Experience with Jenzabar One, SQL Server Management Studio, Appeon InfoMaker, Power BI, and Cognos Analytics is desirable
- Strong understanding of higher-education business practices is a plus
