About the role
A Data Migration Consultant will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing the migration of data from one system to another. This includes assessing current systems, developing migration strategies, managing the migration process, and ensuring data integrity post-migration.
Responsibilities
- Assess current systems and identify areas for improvement in data management and migration processes.
- Develop detailed migration plans that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the migration process, including coordination with stakeholders, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
- Ensure data integrity during and after the migration process.
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members on data migration best practices.
- Perform regular audits and assessments to ensure ongoing data accuracy and security.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data migration, database administration, or related field.
- Experience with data modeling, SQL, and data warehousing technologies.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in using data migration tools and software.
