About the role
This role ensures the integrity, consistency, and traceability of all project configuration items and associated data throughout their lifecycle. The project delivers a mission-assured technical refresh of the CCIC2S Oracle database and RHEL operating environments, upgrading legacy systems to Oracle 19c and RHEL 9.7 while preserving full operational continuity. It includes comprehensive engineering, integration, cybersecurity, testing, and deployment activities to ensure zero data loss, improved performance, strengthened security, and seamless compatibility across all CCIC2S mission systems. Location will be north Colorado Springs initially, with occasional future work at Chidlaw and Peterson AFB.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain configuration and data management plans, policies, and procedures.
- Establish and control baselines for hardware, software, and documentation configurations.
- Maintain accurate records of configuration items (CIs), version control, and change history.
- Coordinate and lead Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings and ensure approved changes are implemented.
- Oversee the release, storage, and distribution of technical data, drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Manage document control systems and ensure compliance with configuration management standards (e.g., MIL-HDBK-61, EIA-649).
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure data accuracy and configuration integrity.
- Support audits, reviews, and verification activities related to configuration and data management.
- Track and report on configuration status, changes, and impacts to schedules or costs.
- Ensure compliance with customer, contractual, and regulatory documentation requirements (e.g., DoD, FAA, ISO).
Requirements
- 6–8+ years of experience in configuration management, data management, document control, or related discipline within aerospace, defense, or highly regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of CM/DM principles, industry standards, and best practices (e.g., MIL-HDBK-61A, EIA-649, ISO/AS9100).
- Experience managing CM/DM on DoD, NASA, or government contract programs.
- Proficiency with CM/DM tools such as PTC Windchill, SharePoint, JIRA, CMPro, or similar platforms.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage large volumes of data/documents.
- Certifications such as CMII, CMPIC, or NDIA CM certification.
- Experience working with CDRLs, DIDs, and military/DoD data deliverables.
- Experience supporting software configuration management environments.
- Familiarity with digital engineering/data environments and model-based development.
- Experience with Agile processes and hybrid development frameworks.
- Prior experience supporting rapid prototyping or rapid capability development programs.
- Active Secret security clearance.

Work Environment

Pay
Estimated pay range: $110,000 USD - $120,000 USD. Actual salary will be based on factors including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure, certification, and business needs.
