Data Integrity Supervisor

About the Role

Working at Cal/OSHA means contributing to programs vital to the health and safety of our community, workforce, and state. As a Supervisor I, you will manage the Data Integrity Unit, ensuring the accuracy, security, and reliability of database and software platforms used for data collection, reporting, and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Data Integrity Unit, overseeing planning, organization, and completion of work activities.
• Manage and coordinate the review of data for inconsistencies or anomalies that could skew analytical results.
• Ensure timely updates of information and streamline data collection, reporting, and analysis procedures for fast access to metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Set validation policies, fix workflow errors, and run routine audits to maintain database and software platform accuracy and security.
• Brief and advise the Supervisor II and division management on the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of the Cal/OIS system.
• Exercise initiative, independence, and originality while demonstrating tact and good judgment in decision-making.
• Promote a safe and secure work environment, free from discrimination, harassment, inappropriate conduct, or retaliation.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff at all levels within and outside of DOSH.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing deadlines.
• Experience prioritizing tasks, using organizational tools, and ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, developing productive relationships with peers and management.
• Proficiency in using the Internet, email, desktop applications, and presentation software to complete assignments.
• Must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification for Supervisor I.

• Work environment: Air-conditioned, low-rise office building with natural and artificial lighting; cubicle setting in close proximity to others.
• Extensive computer use for drafting documents, conducting research, and preparing email communications.
• Expected to conduct yourself professionally, demonstrating respect for all employees and stakeholders.
