Data Integrity Specialist – Development

Main Duties

  • Lead the import, validation, reconciliation, and quality control of gift data to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant entry into donor systems.
  • Expand and lead the constituent deduplication process by analyzing duplicate record patterns, refining merge criteria, coordinating remediation workflows, and implementing scalable solutions that improve long-term data integrity.
  • Develop and implement data entry standards, procedures, and guidelines to ensure clean and consistent data.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements related to data collection, validation, and reporting.
  • Create technical processes and automated workflows to verify accuracy of constituent records using programming/software languages.
  • Develop and implement routine audits to identify and correct inconsistencies, duplications, or errors in biographical and/or gift data.
  • Lead the planning, managing, and implementation of special data hygiene projects.
  • Manage and update the donor database to ensure smooth and efficient storage and retrieval of data.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to complete systematic tasks, troubleshoot specific issues and identify/implement remedies.
  • Ensure donor data is compliant with all relevant data protection regulations.

Required and Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in business, application systems, information science or equivalent or 3 years of equivalent experience.
  • Three to five years’ experience with records management or data/gift entry.
  • Demonstrated experience with creating and implementing data quality improvement processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information science, business or other related programs.
  • 4-6 years of experience working in nonprofit services.
  • 1-2 years experience with donor databases.
  • Experience utilizing software languages such as R or Python.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in identifying data inconsistencies and apply technical solutions to correct them.
  • Advanced understanding of development/advancement services and the data behind fundraising.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with automated reporting and other technical tools to improve data.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and best practices for donor security.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet firm deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to ensure data record quality and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated proficiency working with technology and ability to create standardization and validation processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
