Data Governance Analyst I

Role and Responsibilities

• Support data governance initiatives related to data quality, standardization, and documentation.
• Aid in validating and profiling datasets to identify data quality issues and inconsistencies.
• Maintain data definitions, data dictionaries, and metadata documentation.
• Partner with team members to understand business requirements and support basic data mapping efforts.
• Execute predefined data quality checks and assist in resolving data discrepancies.
• Support data migration and integration activities through documentation and validation tasks.
• Use SQL to query and validate data under guidance from senior team members.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure adherence to data governance standards.
• Document processes, workflows, and data-related procedures clearly and accurately.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to strengthen data governance processes.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of data governance and quality management.
• Basic experience gathering requirements and analyzing processes for improvement.
• Experience in systems engineering and integration.
• Basic experience with SQL, Databricks, and/or database expertise.
• Basic experience writing technical documentation.
• Ability to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills.

Mental and Physical Demands

• Mainly exposed to an indoor office environment.
• Requires sitting for long periods.
• Requires typing and repetitive motion to utilize computer software and hardware.
• Requires concentration on analytical tasks, reading information, and communicating verbally and in writing with others.
