About the Role

Banner Life Insurance Company is seeking an experienced actuarial professional to join its valuation team in a role focused on cloud-based valuation processes and actuarial data management. You will maintain valuation processes, transform and manage data, and support monthly reserves reporting for Banner, William Penn, and captive reinsurance entities. The role also involves collaborating across modeling, finance, audit, and IT teams to improve processes and ensure timely reporting and year-end deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support cloud-based actuarial valuation processes.
  • Transform and prepare data for valuation and reporting activities.
  • Support monthly reserves reporting for Banner, William Penn, and captive reinsurance entities.
  • Collaborate with actuarial modeling, finance, audit, and IT teams.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve valuation and reporting processes.
  • Support the preparation of timely year-end materials.
  • Help ensure valuation and reporting activities align with Statutory and Tax accounting requirements.
  • Monitor processes and resolve data or workflow issues as needed.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of cloud-based actuarial data workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • Professional experience in actuarial valuation and/or actuarial data processes.
  • Experience working with valuation processes and reserves reporting.
  • Strong understanding of actuarial data transformation and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with modeling, finance, audit, and IT teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage recurring monthly and year-end deliverables.
  • Strong understanding of Statutory and Tax accounting considerations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment aligned with EST hours.

Technical Environment

The role involves cloud-based valuation and data processes, with the position title highlighting technologies and platforms including:

  • Microsoft Azure
  • Databricks
  • Cloud-based data transformation
  • Actuarial valuation systems
  • Data reporting and analytics

Collaboration and Process Improvement

The successful candidate will work across multiple business and technical functions to improve the efficiency and reliability of actuarial valuation processes. Strong communication and the ability to translate actuarial requirements into effective data and technology workflows will be important to the role.

Work Arrangement

  • Fully remote position.
  • Work schedule aligned with Eastern Standard Time (EST).
