Data Consultant III
About the role
This position is responsible for developing, governing, and improving the data and knowledge foundations that support AI capabilities. The individual in this role will work with structured and unstructured data to ensure information is defined, organized, and governed for AI consumption. This role helps establish standards and guidelines for how operational knowledge and other contextual assets are curated for trusted model use.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data and knowledge assets for AI use-cases.
- Define and apply standards for how documentation, configurations, telemetry, and metadata are prepared for AI consumption.
- Partner with subject matter experts to understand network technologies and operational context.
- Design and implement scalable methods for storing, governing, indexing, and retrieving context assets.
- Establish and improve controls to identify and reduce data, metadata, and knowledge quality issues.
- Contribute to data quality remediation efforts by identifying upstream sources of issues and defining corrective actions.
- Define and maintain expectations for data ownership, lineage, freshness, stewardship, and governance.
- Build and enhance pipelines, transformations, and validation routines to improve data quality and accessibility.
- Support the creation of reusable templates and guidance for knowledge artifacts.
- Work with engineering, architecture, and operations teams to align data practices with enterprise controls.
- Monitor and communicate the health, readiness, and quality of AI-relevant data and knowledge assets.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data and knowledge management practices.
Requirements
- Experience engineering and managing both structured and unstructured data for analytics, automation, or AI solutions.
- Understanding of data modeling, transformation, storage, and retrieval patterns for scalable data pipelines.
- Ability to define and apply standards for preparing data, documents, and operational context for AI consumption.
- Experience establishing data quality controls, validation checks, and monitoring approaches.
- Knowledge of preventative and detective controls for data quality and knowledge management issues.
- Experience with knowledge sources such as documentation, standards, policies, configurations, and operational records.
- Ability to translate network operational knowledge into usable data and knowledge assets.
- Working understanding of network technologies, infrastructure concepts, and operational service models.
- Experience defining data ownership, lineage, freshness, and governance expectations in a regulated environment.
- Familiarity with AI and retrieval-oriented data preparation concepts.
- Ability to design scalable approaches for storing, governing, and retrieving data assets.
