About the Role
As an Information & Communications Technology Service Delivery Technician, you will provide on-site support for the ICT and Engineering services within the Data Center environment. This role is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function and involves technical maintenance services in critical client environments.
Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and complete IT equipment installation, relocation, and decommission requests within timeframes and to industry standards.
- Provide problem-solving support, including server reboots, backups, and visual inspections.
- Escort third-party engineers and ensure their compliance with site standards.
- Receive, respond, and assign break and fix tickets within the agreed timeframe or escalate if they cannot be resolved.
- Ensure on-site documentation, including work-related standard operating procedures, is created, reviewed, and updated whenever there is an instruction or process change.
- Receive, assess, and complete patching and de-patching requests.
- Develop a good working relationship with all members of staff and client representatives.
- Provision and fault diagnosis and rectification of network channel connectivity, installation, relocation, and decommissioning of IT equipment, and general engineering maintenance and housekeeping of critical services.
- Ensure a safe and healthy working environment while maintaining a professional image.
- Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems.
- Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
Requirements
- Training in a technical discipline having served an apprenticeship or equivalent with 1-2 years of job-related experience.
- In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Must meet the physical requirements of this role, including the ability to lift at least 30 lbs and a lot of walking.
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience.
- Must be reliable and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Skills
- Must Have:
- Replacing hardware in a server (PC).
- Hands-on work with servers ("hands and feet" work).
- Running cables.
- Nice to Have:
- Data Center certifications.
- Specific Data Center experience.
- Ability to work well with others and take directions.
- Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience.
- ServiceNow experience.
- Soft Skills:
- Client-facing role requiring a high level of professionalism and good customer service.
- Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
- Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some expected overtime.
- 1 week per month of on-call duty.
- 2 hours paid on Saturday and Sunday if on-call.
- If called in during on-call, paid for hours worked.
Work Environment
- In-person role located at TX1777-Dallas-2993 Irving Boulevard.
- Work environment is a Data Center.
- Reports to an on-site supervisor.
