Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Center Technical Operations Engineer to support engineering and operational excellence within a large-scale data center environment. This role requires a strong foundation in Linux, hands-on experience with server and hardware diagnostics, and a clear long-term interest in lab or data center operations. The ideal candidate is highly technical, operationally driven, and motivated to build a long-term career in mission-critical infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on server and host diagnostics, hardware validation, and system-level troubleshooting.
- Leverage strong Linux fundamentals to support system operations, debugging, and maintenance tasks.
- Support testing, deployment, and validation of data center hardware and infrastructure.
- Provide on-site coordination with technicians, vendors, and engineering teams to ensure operational excellence.
- Operate and support critical systems including power, cooling, and monitoring infrastructure (UPS, generators, HVAC, BMS).
- Assist with lab or data center build-outs, expansions, and equipment installs.
- Track and manage hardware assets, inventory, and test results.
- Maintain high standards for safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 2–4 years of technical experience in data center, lab, or infrastructure environments.
- Technical Skills: Strong, instinctive Linux fundamentals (command line, system navigation, troubleshooting), and hands-on experience with hardware diagnostics, server/host testing, or system validation.
- Must have a demonstrated long-term interest in lab environments, hardware operations, or data center infrastructure.
- Ability to troubleshoot systems at both hardware and OS levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting data centers, labs, or hardware testing environments.
- Familiarity with low-level system debugging, firmware, or validation workflows.
- Exposure to networking fundamentals (cabling, basic connectivity).
- Technical degree, military training, or equivalent hands-on experience.
