Data Center Team Lead (Mechanical/Electricial)

As a Data Center Team Leader, you will lead specialized technical operations, leveraging deep, hands-on data center experience to protect our clients' most valuable digital assets. This role requires expertise in complex infrastructure such as cooling systems, redundant power supplies, and strict uptime requirements. You will lead skilled engineering teams, manage vendor networks, and uphold industry-leading operational standards.
This is a nightshift position requiring on-site presence at the Data Center facility in Barker, NY.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and inspect the work performed by engineering staff to ensure completion, equipment functionality, and optimal client space conditions.
- Review monthly service request summaries to identify and address recurrent operational problems.
- Formulate and implement a preventative maintenance program to extend the life of building machinery and systems.
- Inspect building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities and meets client environmental conditions.
- Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials for repairs, and maintain an inventory of supplies and tools.
- Assist the team with complex repairs, emergencies, and preventive maintenance.
- Apply advanced knowledge to develop improved methods for achieving individual and department objectives.
- Demonstrate expertise in your discipline and in-depth knowledge of related job functions within the organization.
- Coach others to develop expertise across most or all areas within the function.

Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. A combination of experience and education may substitute for a diploma.
- Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
- Meet physical requirements, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Willingness to challenge existing solutions and explore new approaches.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
- Ability to perform calculations involving percentages, fractions, and financial-related figures.
- Capability to work within broad guidelines and policies.
- Proficiency in coaching others and sharing in-depth knowledge of your discipline while understanding related functions.
- Skill in building consensus and persuading others to reach agreements.
