Data Center Mechanical Team Lead

Our teams keep the digital economy running around the clock without interruption. We are seeking a Data Center Team Lead to join one of our specialized technical operations. This critical role requires a professional with deep, hands-on data center experience. You must understand complex infrastructure like cooling systems, redundant power supplies, and strict uptime requirements. In this role, your technical expertise will directly protect our clients' most valuable digital assets.
What You’ll Do
- Oversight and inspection of engineering staff's work
- Ensuring equipment is fully functional and client space is in prime working condition
- Reviewing monthly service request summaries to identify and address recurrent operational problems
- Formulating and implementing a preventative maintenance program to ensure building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life
- Inspecting building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities and achieves prescribed environmental conditions
- Reviewing assigned work orders
- Estimating time and materials needed to complete repairs
- Maintaining an inventory of adequate supplies and tools and ordering necessary materials
- Aiding the team with complex repairs, emergencies, and preventive maintenance
- Applying advanced knowledge to seek and develop new, better methods for accomplishing both individual and departmental objectives
- Showing expertise in own job discipline and in-depth knowledge of other job disciplines within the organization function
- Coaching others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in most or all areas within the function
- Leading by example and modeling behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values
- Anticipating potential objections and persuading others, often at senior levels and of divergent interests, to adopt a different point of view
- Impact the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives across multidisciplinary teams
- Work is guided by functional policies which impact the design of procedures and policies
- Contribute to new products, processes, standards, and/or operational plans in support of achieving functional goals
- Communicate difficult and complex ideas with the ability to influence
What You’ll Need
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience
- In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered
- Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred
- Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
- Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Organization skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset
- Sophisticated math skills
- Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations
- Capability to work within broad guidelines and policies
- Proficiency in coaching others and sharing in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function
- Skill in leading by example and modeling behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values
- Ability to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement
