About the role
The Data Center Project Manager will join HDR's Building Engineering Services team in Ohio/Pennsylvania. Our team handles Science and Technology, Mission Critical, and Commercial projects. We're actively seeking candidates with experience in the mission critical environment.
Responsibilities
- Leading design teams and projects from start to finish
- Maintaining client relationships and managing team members through all phases of the project
- Coordinating and working closely with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, marketing members, and all other team members
- Primary Duties: Managing and delivering projects, developing and securing work from a robust global client base, expanding HDR’s reputation within these markets, managing multi-disciplinary design teams, mentoring, organizing, and facilitating the growth of staff, coordinating workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule, recruiting and retaining mission critical staff, establishing client relations, participating in marketing, design, and production meetings, assisting marketing and business development groups in developing fee proposals and scope of work documents, promoting HDR through regular client interface, collaborating on development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards, ensuring product deliverables meet quality standards, managing and leading project teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction, controlling project quality, schedule, scope, and budget, forecasting, invoicing, and contract management, creating vital proposal content including scope, schedule, and budget, assisting HDR in interview and interview preparation/presentations, performing other duties as needed
- Travel: Some travel to job sites or other HDR offices could be required. This would be communicated in advance to give adequate coordination time with project work and personal life
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in the areas of site programming, project planning, design, construction and/or commissioning
- Previous Data Center/Mission Critical experience in an architectural/engineering, or engineering consulting firm is desired
- Strong desire to stay current with the trends of the fast-paced industry of mission critical
- Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 7 years related experience
- A minimum of 2 years project management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of the following standards: Uptime Topology standards, ASHRAE TC 9.9, and the ISO standards regarding PUE, CUE, and WUE
- Working knowledge of Newforma Project Center and/or ProjectWise Document Management Software
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strongly motivated and showing professional initiative
- Focused on client outcomes
- Working knowledge of current industry standards
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously
