About the role

HDR is seeking a Data Center Project Manager to join one of the largest, fastest-growing, and comprehensive TMT (Tech, Media and Telecom) practices in the industry. Opportunities are available in preferred locations across the US and UK.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver data center and mission critical projects from upfront planning to completion.
  • Develop and secure work from a robust global client base.
  • Manage multi-disciplinary design teams from project conception to completion.
  • Mentor and manage a team to promote career growth, client satisfaction, and act as a safety net.
  • Coordinate workload through the entire project development process.
  • Mission Critical staff recruiting and retention.
  • Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings.
  • Promote HDR through regular client interface.
  • Collaborate on development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards.
  • Ensure product deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Control project quality, schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Create vital proposal content including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Aid in HDR interviews and presentations.
  • Work cooperatively with local office leads, other business groups, technical directors, and marketing managers.

  • Aid in HDR interviews and presentations.
  • Work cooperatively with local office leads, other business groups, technical directors, and marketing managers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in the areas of site programming, project planning, design, construction, and/or commissioning.
  • Previous Data Center/Mission Critical experience in an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
  • Strong desire to stay current with the trends of the fast-paced industry of mission critical.
  • The ability to interact with various design teams, excellent organizational, project management, and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • Working knowledge of Uptime Topology standards, ASHRAE TC 9.9, and ISO standards regarding PUE, CUE, and WUE.
  • Working knowledge of Newforma Project Center and/or ProjectWise Document Management Software.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • A strongly motivated and professional individual showing initiative.
  • A focused individual on client outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of current industry standards.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • 7 years related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years project management experience.
  • The ability to interact with various design teams, excellent organizational, project management, and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
