Data Center Project Manager *

About the role

HDR is seeking a Data Center Project Manager to join one of the largest, fastest-growing, and comprehensive TMT (Tech, Media and Telecom) practices in the industry. Opportunities are available in preferred locations across the US and UK.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver data center and mission-critical projects from upfront planning to completion.
• Develop and secure work from a robust global client base.
• Work closely with the Regional Building Engineering Services Business Group Managers and the global TMT client management team.
• Mentor and manage a team to promote career growth, client satisfaction, and act as a safety net.
• Coordinate workload and ensure project documents are completed on schedule.
• Mission-critical staff recruiting and retention.
• Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings.
• Promote HDR through regular client interface.
• Collaborate on development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards.
• Ensure product deliverables meet quality standards.
• Control project quality, schedule, scope, and budget.
• Create vital proposal content including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Aid in HDR interviews and presentations.
• Perform other duties as needed.

• Coordinate the work of multidisciplinary design teams.
• Mentor, organize, and facilitate the growth of staff.
• Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
• Mission Critical staff recruiting and retention.
• Marketing: Establish client relations, assist in marketing, design, and production meetings, and promote HDR through regular client interface.
• Collaborate on development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards.
• Technical: Ensure product deliverables meet quality standards.
• Forecasting, invoicing, and contract management.
• Travel: Some travel to job sites or other HDR offices may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in site programming, project planning, design, construction, or commissioning.
• Previous Data Center/Mission Critical experience in an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• Strong desire to stay current with industry trends.
• Working knowledge of Uptime Topology standards, ASHRAE TC 9.9, and ISO standards regarding PUE, CUE, and WUE.
• Working knowledge of Newforma Project Center and/or ProjectWise Document Management Software.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Strong motivation and professional initiative.
• Focused on client outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• 7 years related experience.
• Minimum of 2 years project management experience.
• Ability to interact with various design teams.
• Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
