About the role
HDR is seeking a Data Center Project Manager to join one of the largest, fastest-growing, and comprehensive TMT practices in the industry. Opportunities are available in preferred locations across the US and UK.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver data center and mission-critical projects from upfront planning to completion.
- Develop and secure work from a robust global client base.
- Manage multi-disciplinary design teams from project conception to completion.
- Mentor and manage a team to promote career growth, client satisfaction, and act as a safety net.
- Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
- Mission-critical staff recruiting and retention.
- Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings.
- Promote HDR through regular client interface.
- Collaborate on development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards.
- Ensure product deliverables meet quality standards.
- Control project quality, schedule, scope, and budget.
- Create vital proposal content including scope, schedule, and budget.
- Aid in HDR interviews and presentations.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Additional Duties
- Mentor/Manage: Help grow a team that promotes career growth, client satisfaction, and acts as a safety net.

- Mentor, organize, and facilitate the growth of staff.
- Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
- Mission Critical staff recruiting and retention.
- Marketing: Establish client relations, assist in marketing, design, and production meetings, promote HDR through regular client interface, collaborate on development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in site programming, project planning, design, construction, and/or commissioning.
- Previous Data Center/Mission Critical experience in an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
- Strong desire to stay current with the trends of the fast-paced industry of mission critical.
- The ability to interact with various design teams, excellent organizational, project management, and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
- Working knowledge of Uptime Topology standards, ASHRAE TC 9.9, and ISO standards regarding PUE, CUE, and WUE.
- Working knowledge of Newforma Project Center and/or ProjectWise Document Management Software.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strongly motivated and showing professional initiative.
- Focused on client outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 7 years related experience.
- Minimum of 2 years project management experience.
- The ability to interact with various design teams, excellent organizational, project management, and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
