Data Center Program Manager
As a Microsoft Data Center Project Manager (DCPM), you will perform troubleshooting for service incidents, manage assigned projects to meet service delivery objectives, and escalate to appropriate stakeholders to remove obstacles. You will also follow safety policies and procedures and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) of incidents. This role allows you to build a solid understanding of data center procedures, engage in collaboration across various teams, and provide mentorship by sharing best practices.

As a CO+I DCPM, you will play a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Responsibilities
- Follow and adhere to security and safety policies; report any safety or security issues immediately.
- Participate in safety and security-related Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes and recommend improvements.
- Foster a culture of safety and ensure no unauthorized access in secured production environments.
- Manage and audit physical access lists for personnel in secured production environments.
- Conduct security risk assessments and ensure high security standards in data center operations.
- Document and track security Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and escalate action items.
- Engage with teams to execute tasks or projects and manage programs within your area of responsibility.
- Participate in change advisory board (CAB) meetings and support change implementation.
- Assess security implications of planned changes and escalate risks with guidance.
- Collaborate and negotiate with stakeholders to delegate resources and deliver results.
- Maintain a client-focused and security-first approach, resolving conflicts and managing expectations.
- Identify risks in service delivery and align clients with risk vs. impact decisions.
- Communicate potential client impacts (e.g., lockdowns) and adjust plans accordingly.
- Adapt strategies to evolving security needs with minimal guidance.
- Demonstrate cost-consciousness and adhere to budget requirements.
- Perform troubleshooting for service incidents and escalate as needed to meet SLAs/OLAs.
- Manage client and supplier relationships to clarify and meet expectations.
- Suggest risk-reduction strategies for maintenance and accommodate scheduling needs.
- Hold yourself accountable for end-to-end service quality and customer experience.
- Support issue escalation to appropriate owners and embody Microsoft’s culture and values.
Requirements
- High School Qualification or equivalent and 2+ years of experience supporting IT equipment, delivering server/network deployment projects in large-scale environments, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check (required upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter).
- Citizenship verification (required due to U.S. government customer restrictions; valid passport needed).
Pay
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $84,400 - $168,800 per year. For the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the range is USD $118,800 - $186,600 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
