About the role
The Advanced Technology Center (ATC) Data Center Operations Administrator I supports all users and owners of physical equipment within the ATC data centers. This role reports to the Data Center Operations Manager and involves hands-on support, troubleshooting, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Serves as point of escalation for ATC Data Center Operations Technicians
- Serves as point of contact for large lab builds to direct other DC Ops team members
- Multi-tasks and prioritizes workload independently
- Troubleshoots LAN connectivity issues and reestablishes remote access to customer configurations using SSH, Terminal Services/Remote Desktop Services
- Contributes to process improvements and documentation updates
- Works with Data Center Operations Team Lead and Management to onboard and train Technicians
- Racks, stacks, cabling, labels, manages assets, and integrates devices within the ATC data centers
- Handles tickets, reads cable maps, and executes additional tasks per written instructions
- Communicates with ATC architects, engineers, partners, and consumers of ATC services regarding tasks and errors encountered during task execution
- Provides Remote hands support for users and owners of physical equipment within the ATC Datacenters
- Aids and escorts third-party contractors and guests with on-site access
- Aids with data center facility operations, maintenance, and housekeeping to maintain a state of "tour readiness"
- Maintains a state of efficient data center environment and facilities with standard hot and cold aisle containment
- Makes and configures user/admin accounts for access to the lab environments
- Creates, updates, and resolves tickets in a Jira ticketing system
Qualifications
- Ability to lift between 5-50 pounds regularly
- Strong customer service demeanor and interpersonal skills
- Effective verbal and written communication for both a technical and non-technical audience
- Attention to detail and ability to independently prioritize and handle workload in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of internet-related technologies and protocols
- Industry-related IT certification required (CompTIA Security+, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate)
Requirements
- High school education required
- Secret Security Clearance or the ability to attain one is required
- Minimum of 2 years' progressive experience in a related field
- 3+ years of Rack & Stack/Integration experience preferred
- 1+ years of Datacenter Technician or equivalent experience required
