We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. About the role

AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in developing innovative ways to automate and scale our network. Responsibilities include scaling support for multiple data center locations, capacity management, and collaborating with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution. You will leverage your experience supporting large-scale, enterprise-class networks as well as network implementation and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage work and priorities through ticketing systems and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
  • Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
  • Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment.
  • Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
  • Travel within and outside of the regional work area as required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 environment, including participation in primary responder rotation and after-hours support.
  • Work in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments.
  • Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
  • Safely ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways without limitation.
  • Must have work authorization without employer intervention.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.

Pay

USA, VA, Herndon - $27.98 - $48.99 USD hourly.
