Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems
- Partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, absorption machines, open-drive screw chillers, and ammonia systems
- Provide the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service-related items
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, offering solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently, including upselling opportunities
- Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions
- Work with local market mechanics, Servicemen, and apprentices, and provide on-the-job training when necessary
- Communicate problems, causes, and corrective actions to customers in writing and verbally
- Participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program
Requirements
- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO
- Minimum of eight (8) years of commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry, including Rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, and plumbing
- Experience in Industrial Petrochemical or Data Center vertical environments
- Able to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers, and/or ammonia/hydrocarbon system components
- Maintain ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training certification
- Able to install complete systems (Chillers, Rooftop Units, plumbing, and all supporting mechanical systems)
- Mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators, laser, etc., for pumps, fans, and compressors
- Able to use vibration equipment to troubleshoot drivelines
- Travel required 50% to 75% to support Branch Customer activities, troubleshooting, installation, and repair
- Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies
- Enroll in training programs to gain knowledge in HVAC products and sales quoting
- Attention to detail through interpersonal, digital, and written skills
- Self-starter with a passion and desire to learn and apply on the job
- Prioritize safety in all forms
- Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver's license

Pay
$48.30 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
