About the role
We are seeking a Data Center Manager to join our team during a period of rapid growth. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and mentoring a team of 8 Data Center Technicians
- Conducting regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and skill-gap assessments
- Overseeing workflow optimization for inventory and RMA processes
- Managing the installation, cabling, and decommissioning of server, storage, and networking hardware
- Acting as the primary escalation point for data center incidents
- Monitoring and planning for capacity needs
- Supervising third-party contractors for maintenance
- Maintaining asset management in the DCIM database
- Enforcing strict physical security and OSHA safety standards
- Leading facility through compliance audits
Requirements
- 5+ years in data center operations, with 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Demonstrated experience supporting 24/7 customer-facing operations
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools
- Proven ability to manage technical operations teams
- Excellent communication skills, especially in high-pressure situations
- Experience with ticketing and incident tracking systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP) or Specialist (CDCS)
- ITIL Foundation certification
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar
- OSHA10 or higher certification
