Amazon Web Services is seeking a motivated professional for a Data Center Logistics Manager position. The Logistics Manager is responsible for the oversight of multiple spare parts rooms located in staffed and un-staffed Data Centers. Our Logistics Managers ensure performance plans are set, maintained, continuously improved upon, and difficult problems are met with creative solutions to achieve highly accurate and timely inventory movement throughout our Data Centers.
Key Job Responsibilities
Logistics Operations Leader
- Develop performance goals and objectives to achieve customer promise expectations and ensure accuracy and quality
- Build and execute productivity plans by reviewing work forecasts, determining productivity requirements, and partnering with other Logistics Managers to balance labor
- Determine timelines that meet business and customer expectations; ensure they are met
- Partner with the management team to establish and maintain quality control standards
- Remove roadblocks and obstacles for major initiatives
Logistics Business Leader
- Act as the primary point of contact for communication and escalation to both internal and external teams/customers within your respective area
- Be the primary developer of team strategies, vision and goals for your team in alignment with the broader organization
- Ensure operational practices are fully compliant with legislation and policy
- Generate and/or filter information from higher levels of management to their teams
- Create, manage, and support recognition and communication programs
Logistics People Leader
- Manage and drive staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, performance levels and process change initiatives
- Act as the primary facilitator of team coordination and cohesion
- Maintain a strong focus on personal and team growth and development
- Be a strong supporter of projects outside of day-to-day operations
- Distribute new opportunities fairly amongst the team when available
- Hold regularly scheduled 1:1's with a focus on personal development
- Ensure accountability and documentation on coaching opportunities
- Open new requisitions and ensure bar is being raised with new internal hires
Process Improver
- Proactively be a driver of process standardization and continuous improvement across the org
- Contribute to operational deployment plans outlining critical and best practice launch activities
- Teach how to create documents, processes, tools and metrics that reflect outcomes
- Conduct post-deployment evaluations to measure launch effectiveness (PDSA)
- Advise team members on process improvement strategies
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of logistics operations experience
- 2+ years of shipping & receiving, inventory and warehousing practices experience
- 5+ years of work in a management position with 5 or more direct reports experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing inventory in warehousing, retail or distribution setting
- Experience in transportation operations and industry knowledge
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Experience in computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of computer hardware components and operating systems
Pay & Benefits
Base salary range: 65,000.00 - 113,800.00 USD annually (USA, MD, Frederick). Compensation package includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
