Data Center Facilities Technician

Responsibilities
- Develops creative approaches to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and implements new strategies for Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Life Safety systems
- Tests performance of electromechanical assemblies and electronic volt meters
- Reads blueprints, schematics, diagrams or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of processes
- Inspects equipment for defects, leaks, and potential issues
- Installs electrical/electronic parts and hardware in housings/assemblies with hand tools
- Operates, monitors, maintains, and responds to abnormal conditions in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Life Safety, Security Systems, Building Monitoring Systems, and Control systems
- Analyze systems to ensure best practice for internal/external customers
- Provides feedback on effectiveness of existing standards and processes
- Works with contractors and consultants to review quality assurance for all system expansions, corrections, and upgrades
- Collaborates on the tracking and completing aggressive preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Collaborates on determining maintenance requirements for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety systems, and security systems
- Provide smart/remote hands assistance within specified SLA
- Moves/Adds/Changes hardware install including labeling, power connectivity, and network cable connectivity
- Additional Accountabilities: 100% completion of documentation, notification, escalation, tracking and follow up of all incidents and requests; 100% accurate and timely submission of timesheet documentation in Field Service; 100% fulfillment of contractual expectations as defined by Client SOW specific to scheduled service delivery and revenue expectations; 100% completion of required Talent LMS based training courses as assigned; 100% adherence to Salute Mission Critical safety standards and best practices; 100% adherence to client security/privacy practices and expectations
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Education/Experience background:
- Level I - Associates Degree or minimum of 2 years' experience in electrical/mechanical industry
- Level 2 - Associates Degree or minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical/mechanical industry
- Level 3 - Bachelor of Science in Engineering or minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical/mechanical industry
- Possess understanding of mechanical, electrical, fire life safety systems, LAN/wireless network systems used in a data center
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70 E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, and building codes
- Current knowledge of industrial safety practices
- Knowledge of networking concepts
- Ability to process Hands/Eye requests as required (i.e. Tape rotation, Rack and Stack of equipment, inventory hardware, power cycle devices, patch cable install/removal)
- Mechanical aptitude for installing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems
- Certification in CPR/First Aid, NFPA 70 E, and OSHA forklift training
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or greater

Compensation & Benefits
The hourly rate for this role is $30.00 per hour. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire, based on skills, experience, education, and market/location. This posted hourly rate is the final rate of pay for the position, based on job-related factors consistent with applicable law.
