Data Center Facilities Architect/SME
About the Role
We are seeking a Data Center subject matter expert with extensive experience in data center facilities and a broad understanding of IT infrastructure and systems. This leadership role is based in the US with openness to travel based on customer needs. You will work with account teams during the presales and early execution phases, requiring strong communication, presentation, and customer-handling skills. The role involves collaborating with partner ecosystems and offshore teams to build customer value propositions and differentiated solutions.
The ideal candidate should have experience in the US market and a strong grasp of local compliance and standards for data centers. You should be well-versed in overall data center facilities design and operations, with a good understanding of AI data center requirements (prior experience is an added advantage). Familiarity with data center IT infrastructure is also beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support account teams during presales and early execution phases.
- Develop customer value propositions and differentiated solutions in collaboration with partner ecosystems and offshore teams.
- Create strategies, roadmaps, and implementable designs for data center facilities.
- Ensure compliance with local standards and Tier-level requirements for data centers.
- Provide expertise in one or more data center facilities streams (e.g., MEP, electrical) while maintaining an understanding of other systems.
- Deliver high-quality documentation and communication, including executive-level narratives and technical depth.
Requirements
- 15+ years of total experience, with a minimum of 10 years in data center facilities design, build, and operations.
- Experience with 1-2 large data centers of hyperscaler or colo providers is preferred.
- Expertise in AI data center facilities design is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of data center standards, compliance, and Tier-level requirements.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure is an added advantage.
- Proven ability to translate strategy and roadmaps into implementable designs.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and presentation skills.
- CDCS or higher certification is desirable.
Pay
Expected compensation for this role ranges from $285,000 to $350,000. Final compensation will depend on factors such as geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience.
