Data Center Development Program Intern

About the role

The 12-week internship program equips participants with hands-on skills necessary for various careers in data centers. It covers electrical, mechanical, fiber optics, HVAC, fire systems, and building automation systems, along with customer-focused sales opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply skills in electrical, mechanical, fiber optics, and HVAC systems
• Support customer happiness through timely and detailed order execution
• Develop strong problem-solving skills and maintain detailed records of all work activity
• Contribute to team success and company growth by performing hands-on work

Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. and perform manual tasks with agility
• Flexibility to work any shift, off-schedule, and assist in emergencies
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, fiber optics, Ethernet, switches, and servers, and electrical, diesel generators, fire systems, and building automation systems/building mechanical systems (not required)
• A natural curiosity and strong troubleshooting skills
• A strong customer service mindset
• Dedication and commitment to precision and accuracy
• A high school diploma

Qualifications

This opportunity is for candidates with non-traditional degree backgrounds, specifically from trade schools. No prior experience in data center technology is required.

Skills

• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, fiber optics, Ethernet, switches, and servers, and electrical, diesel generators, fire systems, and building automation systems/building mechanical systems (welcome but not required)

Benefits

Interns will be paid hourly, working 40 hours per week. The program takes place in Silicon Valley from September to November.
