Data Center Construction Manager

About the role

This position is responsible for overseeing the installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems in data centers. The ideal candidate will have extensive supervisory experience on large multi-million-dollar projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor Quality Control Programs
• Manage project scheduling
• Interview and hire team members
• Use OTDR to test fiber optic cables
• Create and review design documents
• Schedule and manage construction activities
• Lead and manage large union telecom crews
• Ensure compliance with union rules and collective bargaining agreements
• Obtain and maintain OSHA-30 Hour certification within six months of employment
• Hold BICSI Technician (TECH) and Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certifications

Requirements

• 3-5 years of supervisory experience on large multi-million-dollar projects focused on structured cabling systems
• Experience managing teams of 100+ on large projects and construction sites
• Experience in mission-critical infrastructure cabling installations for data center new builds and retrofits
• Preferred experience leading and managing large union telecom crews
• Deep understanding of union rules, collective bargaining agreements, work jurisdiction, and labor compliance
• Professional certifications: OSHA-30 Hour certification, BICSI Technician (TECH), and BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
