Primary Responsibilities
- Participate in required safety programs and ensure all employees complete safety training and work safely.
- Lead development and execution of Commissioning Plans (Cx Plans), including pre-functional checks, functional performance testing, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) across electrical, mechanical, and controls systems.
- Owning day-to-day commissioning operations: schedule control, staffing, vendor coordination, equipment availability, documentation quality, and adherence to safety requirements.
- Establish and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Methods of Procedure (MOP), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP) for testing and turnover; ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
- Develop, evaluate, and motivate staff; conduct formal annual performance evaluations and create developmental/learning plans for each employee; administer disciplinary actions in compliance with company policy.
- Plan and establish systems to control expenses and drive efficiency while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients during commissioning; assist in resolving issues and complaints related to testing, documentation, and schedule.
- Affirm compliance with applicable regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, local AHJ) and alignment with owner requirements and industry best practices.
- Set job standards, arrange work assignments to cover vacancies and absences, and maintain accurate attendance and training records.
- Perform routine quality control inspections and test witnessing to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and defect-free handover.
- Supervise daily workflow (workload, resources, equipment, and documentation processes) and remove blockers to keep work flowing.
- Absorb and assist in developing long-term schedules and sequencing to maximize technician and vendor efficiency; manage look-ahead plans and constraint logs.
- Aid in collecting and reconciling project-related accounts receivable; support change management and cost control.
- Accountable for monthly reports, including safety metrics, schedule status, issue/punch list closure, financials, and staffing updates; file all injury/incident reports per policy.
- Conduct monthly meetings (safety, schedule/financials, quality, and company updates) and lead daily/weekly stand-ups with commissioning teams.
- Maintain current product and system knowledge (UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs, BMS/EPMS/DCIM, chillers, CRAH/CRAC, cooling towers, controls) and policy/procedures to ensure systems meet manufacturer requirements and warranty guidelines.
- Manage issue tracking, RFI responses, redlines, and as-built handover; ensure test scripts and results are complete, traceable, and archived.
