Data Center Cabling Technician

About the role

This is a hands-on opportunity to work on large-scale data center and network infrastructure builds as a Cable Technician.

Responsibilities

• Install and route Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling
• Pull and terminate cables, including 110/66 blocks and patch panels
• Perform rack & stack installations and build out network closets
• Install cable trays, conduit, and wireways in commercial environments
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams
• Support data center builds both indoors and outdoors
• Use hand and power tools (drills, cutters, compression tools, etc.)

Requirements

• 1+ year of commercial cabling experience
• Experience with structured cabling (Cat5/Cat6)
• Experience with punch-downs and terminations
• Experience with cable installation and routing
• Basic understanding of fiber optic cabling
• Ability to read blueprints and project specs
• Knowledge of communications color codes
• Reliable transportation to job sites

Skills

• Fiber pulling experience (nice to have)
• Network equipment familiarity (nice to have)
• Data center or large commercial build experience (nice to have)

Work Environment

• Construction and data center settings
• Physically active role requiring lifting, tool usage, and movement

Pay

$20.00 - $24.00/hr
