Data Analytics Specialist
About the role
Satair is seeking a Data Analytics Specialist to join our Digital & Analytics Team in Herndon, VA. This role serves as the regional focal point in the US, championing the adoption of analytics and automation tools, fostering awareness, facilitating collaboration, and supporting the organization’s transformation towards a data-driven culture.
Responsibilities
Regional Adoption Leadership (US Focal Point): Serve as the regional focal point in the US, championing the adoption of analytics and automation tools, fostering awareness, facilitating collaboration, and supporting the organization’s transformation towards a data-driven culture.
Act as a coach and advisor to cross-functional teams, guiding them on data quality improvement plans and supporting them in developing their own MVVs and analytics use cases.
Business Improvement and Opportunity Identification: Engage with functional teams to understand end-to-end processes, identify pain points, and uncover opportunities for improvement through data and emerging technologies. Design and deliver Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) to quickly test, validate, and address critical business challenges.
Data Analysis and Insight: Conduct in-depth data analysis and experimentation to uncover valuable business insights and support data-driven decision-making. Translate analysis into actionable outcomes by developing automated tools, visual dashboards, reports, or workflows that enhance productivity and business value.
Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or related field
- 10% Domestic and International Travel involved
- Authorized to work in the US

- Empathy: Ability to understand the unique challenges and concerns of different teams and tailor approaches to address their specific needs regarding technology and analytics adoption.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Robust coding abilities (Python)
- Experience in working with APIs, algorithms, and data structures
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in an analytics, data science, or similar role within a complex business environment.
- Experience with DevOps tools / modern cloud stack and practices
Physical Requirements
- Onsite or remote: 60% onsite
- Vision: Daily be able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
- Hearing: Daily able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
- Speaking: Daily able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
- Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): Daily able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment.
- Carrying: Daily able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
- Lifting: Daily able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
- Pushing / Pulling: Daily able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
- Sitting: Daily able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
- Squatting / Kneeling: Daily able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
- Standing: Daily able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
- Travel: Twice a year able to travel independently and at short notice.
- Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): Daily able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
- Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
- Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visit, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
- Ability to work in the US without current, or future, need of visa sponsorship/work authorization is required for this position.
