Data Analyst, Wellness at Penn

About the role

The Data Analyst supports Public Health and Wellbeing’s mission of creating a community of care and the Wellness at Penn vision of integrating the science, theory, and practice of Wellness. This role involves providing assessment of undergraduate, graduate, and professional student data and clear report writing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the analysis and reporting of population-level metrics on a monthly, semester and annual basis
• Build, run, and perform routine analysis of data reports for population-level metrics using multiple data systems including electronic health record systems and national and university-based surveys
• Assist public health surveillance reports monthly, semesterly, and annually
• Support queries and workflows to manage and report student immunization and insurance requirements and transactions
• Aid in evaluation frameworks and data analysis for health education programs and interventions
• Evaluate and report on population level data acquired through Wellness at Penn services, including but not limited to: Patient Satisfaction Surveys, National organization surveys and population level health assessments, General utilization of services
• Create analysis plans and develop reports to present findings that inform University and Wellness colleagues on the health and wellness of Penn students
• Develop innovative approaches for data sharing and visualization based on various audiences within the Penn community
• Collaborate closely with University data system operators including but not limited to Institutional Research and Advancement, Student Registration and Financial Services, and Data Warehouse, and Penn Medicine

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; Master’s degree in public health or related field preferred
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work on a team; excellent written communications skills
• Demonstrated ability to work across multiple data systems and to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including students, faculty members, staff, and university administrators
• Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, etc.) and electronic health record systems preferred
• Qualified individuals should be able to articulate a strong commitment to diversity and can work effectively with individuals from different backgrounds

Pay

$62,067.00 - $75,700.00 Annual Rate

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
