About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Analyst to join our innovative team in Ashburn, VA. This is a part-time hybrid position requiring 2-3 days onsite per week.
Qualifications
- AS and 4-13 years of experience, BS and 2+ years, MS and 0-5 years, or PhD and 0-3 years in Data Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics.
- Relevant coursework or internship experience in data analytics.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and an interest in data management.
- Proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Basic understanding of scripting languages such as Python or R.
- Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and communicate progress effectively.
- Proactive attitude toward learning new tools, software, and data protocols.
Responsibilities
- Aid in maintaining existing dashboards and generating recurring reports under the guidance of senior analysts.
- Perform basic data validation and cleaning tasks to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Document data sources, query logic, and reporting processes to facilitate team knowledge sharing.
- Review and evaluate large volumes of sensitive intelligence data related to CBP initiatives.
- Collaborate with intelligence analysts, enterprise/application architects, database architects, data scientists, and mission stakeholders.
- Support ad-hoc data requests and participate in training and mentorship to enhance proficiency in data tools and methodologies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data management and analysis processes within the team.
