About The Role
The Junior Data Analyst within the Data Analytics Department plays a vital role in supporting both external client projects and internal initiatives by delivering insightful, data-driven solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on impactful projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and enhance analytical skills in a rapidly expanding practice area.
Responsibilities
- Examine collected data to identify trends, outliers, and patterns, providing actionable insights to improve client efficiency and profitability
- Gather and organize data from various sources such as reports, surveys, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring data accuracy and completeness
- Convert reports into structured databases and design secure, efficient data storage solutions
- Maintain data integrity through validation checks and audits
- Develop and optimize SQL queries to support reporting and analytical needs
- Document database processes, definitions, and data dictionaries for transparency and knowledge sharing
- Collaborate with IT and senior analysts to troubleshoot database issues and optimize performance
- Support automation of data tasks using Python scripts and ETL workflows to enhance efficiency
- Apply VBA scripting within Excel to streamline reporting processes and calculations
- Retrieve, organize, and analyze data to produce accurate reports and dashboards
- Create and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, emphasizing visualization best practices
- Develop automated reporting solutions to minimize manual effort and improve report reliability
- Present findings clearly to management and clients, supporting strategic decision-making
- Identify potential strategies for process improvements based on data analysis insights
- Stay informed on emerging trends and best practices in data management and analytics
- Participate in project planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure timely delivery
- Work closely with team members, clients, and stakeholders to support data initiatives and provide actionable recommendations
- Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned to support departmental goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivots, Power Query, Power Pivot, DAX, M Code) and the broader Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Understanding of database design, structure, and query languages
- Knowledge of statistical methods including linear and logistic regression
- Excellent analytical thinking with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and presentation skills for diverse stakeholders
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a dynamic environment
