Data Analyst, Journeyman

Use your skills and experience to support missions and leverage data for good, helping clients make data-driven decisions throughout strategy, planning, programming, budgeting, and execution phases.
Responsibilities
- Develop data analytics and visualizations by applying proven, industry-standard data science principles and techniques.
- Create and edit visual content, including charts, graphs, and dashboards, to transform quantitative and qualitative data sets into compelling and understandable visuals.
- Collaborate with project requestors, stakeholders, and project managers to refine project requests and clarify business needs and objectives.
- Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and key performance indicators to drive technical outcomes.
- Support the preparation of reports and briefs on analyses and dashboard functionality for various internal teams.
- Present data findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders using your data analytics expertise.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, or data mining.
- 4+ years of experience with data manipulation using statistical software.
- Experience delivering analytical insights through written reports, verbal communication, and formal presentations.
- Experience with a scripting language such as Python, SQL, R, or SAS to extract data and perform analytics and visualizations.
- Experience using Power BI, SharePoint, Tableau, and systems or databases to manipulate and build data visualizations.
- Knowledge of automation and how to tighten work processes into a true flow.
- Ability to clearly convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders and provide presentation samples.
- Ability to maintain accuracy while dealing with large data sets with high attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements.
- Successfully pass background and drug screening.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating Big Data platforms as a data source for creating data visualizations.
- Experience using PowerApps.
- Experience with ETL performance optimization or data movement software such as StreamSets, Databricks, or Jupyter Notebooks.
- Experience with Agile methodologies such as Kanban, Scrum, and DevOps principles.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques and tools.
