Essential Functions
- Gathers and defines reporting and data requirements in collaboration with managers and operational stakeholders.
- Translates business needs into data definitions, transformation rules, validation criteria, and reporting specifications.
- Ensures requirements are complete and testable before development.
- Develops SQL queries and analytical logic to validate ETL outputs and reporting accuracy.
- Reconciles discrepancies and confirms adherence to defined business rules.
- Collaborates with Data Engineers to resolve issues and refine logic as needed.
- Captures and coordinates UAT efforts to confirm solutions meet defined functional and data accuracy requirements.
- Documents findings and ensures corrections are addressed prior to production release.
- Traces data flow across systems to assess downstream impacts of new data elements or definition changes.
- Identifies risks and dependencies and communicates findings and recommendations as appropriate.
- Reinforces enterprise data definitions, naming conventions, and documentation practices.
- Identifies inconsistencies in business logic and recommends improvements.
- Provides mentorship and peer guidance as the analyst function grows.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 4–6 years in data analysis, reporting, or data warehouse environments with increasing responsibility.
- Demonstrated leadership in requirements gathering and user acceptance testing efforts.
- Proven ability to validate and reconcile data within ETL or warehouse solutions.
- Strong track record translating business rules into structured data definitions and technical specifications.
- Industry knowledge in insurance or financial services preferred.

- Advanced proficiency in SQL and strong working knowledge of relational and warehouse data environments.
- Ability to define, document, and validate business data logic with precision.
- Demonstrated strength in structured problem-solving, impact analysis, and issue resolution.
- Effective communicator capable of engaging technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrates accountability and sound judgment while managing multiple concurrent initiatives.
