Data Analyst: Finance and Grants Administration

About the role

The Data Analyst role supports the Grants Administration & Finance team at Knight Foundation. The Grants Administration team oversees and continuously improves the foundation's grant-making process and systems. The Finance team plans, manages, and forecasts the foundation's financial resources, supporting budgeting and long-term financial planning in partnership with program and operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Translates financial data into clear, decision-relevant insights that support programmatic and operational strategy, including identifying trends, interpreting results, and making actionable recommendations
• Ensures the quality, integrity, and accuracy of grant data across grant, accounting, and finance platforms
• Safeguards responsible fiduciary stewardship of grants, grant-related financial structures, and endowments
• Supports grant payment decisions based on timely and relevant financial data
• Contributes to process improvements by identifying issues and suggesting solutions

Qualifications

• Experience with Fluxx, or another grants management database, is a plus
