About the Opportunity
The Data Analyst role is designed to support data quality and governance efforts by profiling datasets, documenting data issues, and assisting in maintaining business glossaries and data standards. This position contributes to the organization's ability to ensure reliable data for operational use and decision-making through collaboration with business teams and adherence to established governance practices.
Responsibilities
- Run basic data profiling to assess completeness, accuracy, and consistency of datasets.
- Document findings and report data quality issues.
- Prepare simple data quality reports for stakeholders.
- Utilize Microsoft Purview to support data governance tasks.
- Register and maintain data assets in the data catalog.
- Follow and document governance processes.
- Collaborate with business teams to understand data usage.
- Draft definitions for business terms and data rules.
- Maintain and organize the business glossary.
- Support data standardization efforts across systems.
- Identify inconsistencies and coordinate clean-up activities.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
- Understanding of Group Insurance data domains.
- Basic knowledge of data concepts such as databases, tables, and data types.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar tools.
- Exposure to SQL.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Excel is beneficial.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new tools and processes.
- Organized, reliable, and able to work in a team.
Pay
- Base compensation range: 50,000 - 80,000.
- Final offers depend on skills, experience, location, and role responsibilities.
- Higher compensation may be available in higher-cost areas such as California, New York, and New Jersey.
