Data Analyst
About the Role
As a Data Analyst, your focus will be on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting marketing data to inform strategies and decisions for nonprofit clients across diverse channels. This role will give you the insights you need to develop your expertise in omnichannel marketing, nonprofit fundraising, and analytic toolsets. Responsibilities
- Design and maintain comprehensive reports, dashboards, Key Performance Indicators, and other business tools to inform client strategy.
- Leverage your coding skills to transform data into useable information that can be presented in Power BI, Excel, and/or other reporting tools.
- Apply technical skills to deploy automated procedures that drive efficient data ingestion and transformation.
- Identify trends, patterns, and outliers in complex data sets to drive decisions.
- Work with internal team members to develop deep knowledge of our clients’ programs to produce more relevant analysis and deepen your analytic abilities.
- Collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Identify errors in data files or reports and take measures to resolve them.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1-3 years’ experience in an analytical role.
- Experience in direct marketing preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to present findings clearly and concisely.
- Familiarity with fundraising metrics, file segmentation techniques, and direct marketing strategy.
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience with SQL and Python; a Snowflake environment a plus.
- Fundamental understanding of relational database design and reporting systems.
- Intermediate to advanced users of Excel with strong ability in formulas, functions, and pivot tables.
- Experience with statistical analysis methods and concepts like randomized controlled trials, hypothesis testing, summary statistics, regression, and other explanatory and predictive modeling frameworks.
- Experience with direct marketing and attribution across multiple channels, including but not limited to direct mail, website, digital advertising, email, and direct response TV.
- Attention to detail with the intrinsic ability to identify anomalies, discover the root cause, and correct underlying issues.
