About the role
This contract Data Analyst role focuses on analyzing healthcare data and delivering clear, actionable reporting using SQL and Power BI. You'll combine and transform complex datasets, build dashboards and reports, and support program monitoring and development through accurate, stakeholder-ready insights.
Responsibilities
- Transform, merge, filter, and analyze healthcare datasets using SQL
- Develop data models, dashboards, and reports in Power BI
- Build working expertise in All Payer Claims Database (APCD), Ecosystem, and Medicaid data sources
- Track and report program activity data to support monitoring and program development
- Partner with stakeholders to produce enrollee reporting and other recurring deliverables
- Monitor incoming data submissions to ensure accuracy and completeness
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Health Policy, Health Economics, Statistics, Medical Informatics, Epidemiology, or similar); equivalent work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree requirement
- Proficiency with Power BI, SQL, Excel, and Access
- Strong ability to investigate data to identify patterns and trends
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deliver high-quality reports under short deadlines
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with strong verbal, written, leadership, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a quantitative field (Health Policy, Health Economics, Statistics, Medical Informatics, Epidemiology, or similar)
- Proven experience working with healthcare data, including healthcare claims data, Minimum Data Set data, or other complex real-world datasets
- Knowledge of Medicaid claims data
