About the role

The Associate Data Analyst supports data-driven decision-making by performing comprehensive data analytics, creating dashboards, generating reports, and delivering high-quality data solutions. This role involves proactive data collection from diverse internal and external sources, meticulous data cleaning and validation, and analysis to uncover insights that inform strategic initiatives. Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as marketing, product, finance, and operations, the Associate Data Analyst translates data needs into actionable insights, contributing to impactful projects and organizational success.

Responsibilities

• Proactively gather data from internal systems (CRM platforms, ERP systems, operational databases) and external sources (APIs, public datasets, customer surveys).
• Apply robust data cleaning techniques, including handling missing data, correcting data types, removing duplicates, and standardizing formats to ensure high data quality.
• Validate data accuracy through cross-referencing with source systems, logic checks, and collaboration with domain experts.
• Organize raw data into structured formats such as data tables, CSV files, or relational databases for analysis readiness.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis using statistical techniques to identify patterns, anomalies, and relationships within datasets.
• Visualize trends and key performance indicators over time using tools like matplotlib, seaborn, or Excel charts.
• Translate analytical findings into actionable insights to support strategic initiatives including market expansion, product optimization, and customer retention.
• Respond to data inquiries from business units by investigating root causes, validating assumptions, and delivering data-backed solutions.
• Design and build dynamic dashboards to track KPIs, operational metrics, and overall business performance using visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI.
• Write efficient SQL queries to extract, join, filter, and aggregate data from relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
• Leverage Python or R to automate workflows, perform advanced analyses, and develop custom data pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, transformation logic, and business rules to ensure transparency and consistency.
• Monitor data integrity through validation checks, discrepancy reconciliation, and working with IT teams to resolve issues.
• Help standardize data handling procedures by creating templates, SOPs, and training materials for team members.
• Support mentorship of junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster team development.
• Adapt to evolving organizational needs by executing additional data-related assignments as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Data Analytics or related fields.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Excel dashboards.
• Strong analytical skills with knowledge of statistical methods like regression, clustering, and hypothesis testing.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for data manipulation and visualization (preferred).
• Excellent communication skills for presenting technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
• Understanding of data governance, privacy standards (GDPR, CCPA), and quality assurance practices.
