Troubleshooting and Repair

  • Troubleshoot and repair Food Service/Commercial Kitchen Equipment.
  • Inspect commercial kitchen equipment and components to ensure safe operation.
  • Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments.
  • Test lines, components, and connections for leaks.
  • Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts, and reassemble repaired systems.

Preventative Maintenance

  • Order, pick up, deliver, and install materials and supplies needed to maintain equipment in good working condition.
  • Keep records of repairs and replacements made and causes of malfunctions.
  • Communicate with retail members and team regarding status of repairs to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as needed on various types of Food Service/Commercial Kitchen Equipment.

Service Vehicle and Tools

  • Sustain service vehicle, tools, and uniforms to Tech-24 standards.

Compliance and Safety

  • Comply with all safety and sanitation rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Notify supervisor of unsafe/unsanitary conditions.

On-Call Duty Rotation

  • Participate in on-call duty rotation to meet department and member retailer needs.

Education and Experience

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; and three to five years related experience.

Certifications and Licenses

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and an appropriate motor vehicle record.
  • CFESA certified a plus.

Computer Skills

  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office specifically Word, Excel and Outlook (email).

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Two to three years of monitoring, repairing, and troubleshooting kitchen equipment experience.
  • Working knowledge of refrigeration equipment, tools, and refrigerants.
  • Working knowledge of silver solder tools.
  • Working knowledge of normal shop equipment and hand tools.
  • Must own industry’s standard hand tools.
  • Working knowledge of all electrical phases and voltage.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Superb customer service skills.
