Dairy Department Lead

About the Role

A Dairy Department Clerk ensures the dairy section is fresh, organized, and fully stocked for customers. This role involves rotating and shelving products, monitoring freshness, maintaining clean and visually appealing displays, and providing friendly assistance to shoppers. You’ll also support inventory accuracy and assist with receiving and placing orders to keep the department running smoothly. This is an active, fast-paced position requiring comfort working in cooler environments and being on your feet throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Rotate and shelve dairy products to maintain freshness and organization.
• Monitor product freshness and remove expired or damaged items.
• Maintain clean, visually appealing displays.
• Assist customers with inquiries and provide friendly service.
• Support inventory accuracy and assist with receiving and placing orders.
• Use handheld inventory devices and basic computer systems for order tracking.

Requirements

• Familiarity with food safety and freshness protocols.
• Ability to manage inventory, rotate stock, and keep shelves organized.
• Friendly, helpful attitude with strong customer service skills.
• Attention to detail for monitoring product dates, cleanliness, and display standards.
• Physical stamina for working in refrigerated environments and staying active throughout the shift.
• Willingness to collaborate with teammates and contribute to a positive store environment.
• Basic technical skills, including familiarity with handheld inventory devices and computer systems.

Pay

The pay range is $17.38 to $22.71 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Starting rates vary based on location, experience, qualifications, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
