About the Role

A Dairy Department Clerk ensures the dairy section is fresh, organized, and fully stocked for customers. This role involves rotating and shelving products, monitoring freshness, maintaining clean and visually appealing displays, and providing friendly assistance to shoppers. You’ll also support inventory accuracy and assist with receiving and placing orders to keep the department running smoothly. This is an active, fast-paced position requiring comfort in cooler environments and being on your feet throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Rotate and shelve dairy products to maintain freshness and organization.
• Monitor product freshness and remove expired or damaged items.
• Maintain clean, visually appealing displays to enhance customer experience.
• Assist customers with inquiries and provide friendly, helpful service.
• Support inventory accuracy and assist with receiving and placing orders.
• Use handheld inventory devices and basic computer systems for order tracking.

Requirements

• Familiarity with food safety and freshness protocols, with a focus on maintaining product quality.
• Ability to manage inventory, rotate stock effectively, and keep shelves organized and full.
• Friendly, helpful attitude with strong customer service and communication skills.
• Strong observational skills to monitor product dates, cleanliness, and display standards.
• Comfortable working in refrigerated environments and staying active throughout the shift.
• Willingness to collaborate with teammates and contribute to a positive store environment.
• Basic technical skills, including familiarity with handheld inventory devices and computer systems.
