Daily Living Skills Instructor/Paraprofessional (Full-time/Part Time)

About the Role

The Camphill School is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated professional for a dual role as a One-to-One Paraprofessional and Daily Living Skills Instructor for the 2026/2027 school year. The successful candidate will provide individualized support to a student during the morning and lead or assist with daily living skills instruction for students in the afternoon. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to help students build independence, confidence, and essential life skills. There is also the possibility for the Daily Living Skills Instructor to be a standalone part-time (afternoons) position Monday through Friday.

The Camphill School is a residential and day school for students ages 5-18 with moderate to severe intellectual and developmental disabilities. The school provides an adaptive Waldorf curriculum, balancing traditional academic subjects with a strong art and music program and a practical hands-on approach. The mission is to create wholeness for children and youth with developmental disabilities through education, extended family living, and therapy.

Responsibilities

One-to-One Paraprofessional (Morning)

• Provide individualized academic, behavioral, and social support to an assigned student.
• Assist with classroom participation and implementation of educational goals.
• Support student engagement, independence, and success throughout the school day.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff.

Daily Living Skills Instructor (Afternoon)

• Teach functional life skills to individuals and small groups of students.
• Develop and implement activities that promote independence and daily living skills.
• Assist students with self-care needs, including dressing, toileting, hygiene, and mobility support as needed.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming learning environment.
• Supervise and support program staff professionally.

Additional Responsibilities

• Participate in the implementation and monitoring of student IEP goals.
• Collect data and contribute to progress reports.
• Communicate effectively with families and team members.
• Attend faculty meetings, student meetings, and required trainings, including First Aid/CPR and CPI.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with special needs preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to provide personal care support and lift moderate to heavy weight when necessary.
• Knowledge of IEP implementation and data collection is a plus.
• Able to pass all background clearances.

Schedule

Full-time: Monday through Friday, 8:15 am to 4:15 pm.

Part-time: Monday through Friday, 12:15 pm to 4:15 pm.

Pay

Dual role position: $33,000-$36,000 dependent upon experience.
