D2D On-Site Operations Coordinator
About The Job
A Temporary On-Site Operations Coordinator is needed to help run the Driven to Discover Research Facility at the Minnesota State Fair, which runs from August 27 to September 7, 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for students and others looking for experience in a cross-disciplinary, human-subjects research environment. Must be available to work most days of the Fair, including evenings and weekends. Position includes free admission to the Minnesota State Fair.
Duties
- Prepare the D2D building for the 2026 Minnesota State Fair.
- Assist D2D staff in running the building during the Fair.
- Take down booths, manage equipment (e.g., iPads).
- Troubleshoot issues (e.g., rain, electrical outages, broken equipment).
- Handle emergencies (e.g., falls, missing children).
- Clean the facility as needed (including mopping the floor at the end of the night).
- Learn State Fair and D2D procedures and answer questions from researchers and Fair attendees.
- Promote Fair participation to visitors, and perform various other duties as assigned by the D2D Manager.
Qualifications
- High School graduate with some post-secondary education.
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
- Preference will be given to people with experience working in a research or clinical environment.
Pay And Benefits
Pay Range: $17.00 to $20.00 a hour; de pending on education/qualifications/experience. Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor-Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications. Learn more about retirement plans .
