River Edge offers outpatient services at our Emery Highway-Macon, Monroe County and Baldwin County locations. Outpatient services include behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment, stabilization and medication maintenance services as well as crisis intervention services as well as awareness, education and recovery groups.
Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Nurse at The Crisis Service and Diagnostic Center
The Crisis Service and Diagnostic Center is a program designed to offer individual tailored assistance and brief (up to 90-day) stabilization for a maximum of sixteen (16) adults aged 18 and above, who have intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or concurrent mental health diagnoses. These individuals are experiencing psychiatric symptoms and/or significant emotional/behavioral changes that negatively impact their functioning and jeopardize their ability to stay in their usual home environment. River Edge is currently seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Nurse.
- Provide psychiatric services to clients in a variety of clinical settings during scheduled hours.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat adults, adolescents, and children experiencing symptoms of behavioral health disorders.
- Prescribe, recommend, or discontinue drugs and treatments to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
- Partner with MD, to determine if the patient needs inpatient placement, to facilitate that placement and complete the appropriate documentation.
- Remain in compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, regulations, and standards, including all of River Edge's policies and procedures and Quality Assurance Plan, DBHDD requirements, State Licensing standards, County Monitoring requirements, and managed care regulations.
- Collaborate with counselors, social workers, or other treatment team members to coordinate client care.
- Timely and accurate completion of medical records, including assessment, treatment plan, progress notes, outcome measures, and billing entries.
- Counsel clients during appointments, as necessary.
- Design/participate in the development of individualized treatment plans, incorporating best and leading practices into treatment interventions.
- Examine or order laboratory or diagnostic tests for clients to provide information on general physical condition and mental disorders.
- Collaborate with guardians, relatives, and significant others on client's conditions and treatment when clinically appropriate.
- Prepare and submit assessments, progress notes, reports, and summaries to entities/agencies (funders, insurance companies, etc.) as required.
- Responsible for maintaining customer relations with all agency staff and clients.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing
- Valid Advanced Practice License granted by the Georgia composite state board of medical examiners AND certification in one of the following specialties: General Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, or a related discipline.
- Specialty in Psychiatric Medicine
- Certification to practice as a nurse practitioner through approval by the Georgia board of nursing.
- At least one (1) year of experience providing mental health and substance abuse treatment.
- All applicants must pass a satisfactory background clearance and pre-employment drug test.
- Provide two (2) Professional references (Former employers only, no family members).
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience with the chronically mentally ill population.
- Must have strong clinical skills.
- Must have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Must have ability to multi-task and remain organized.
